Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a cosmetic solution (tattoo) that adds visual density or the look of a short haircut for men and women from beginning to advanced stages of hair loss. Program Structure 

  • Duration: 12 weeks — 225 clock hours, live evening classes twice weekly plus studio components

  • Tuition: $5,500 — one published price

  • All tools & equipment are included

  • Cohort: Capped at 8 apprentices — a 1:8 instructor ratio

  • Location: Hands-on activities at our Bowie studio; online learning via our dedicated platform

  • Credential: SMP Practitioner — issued by the ScalpWork Foundation at the final credential gate

  • Live clients: Three supervised sessions on your own client, plus two in-studio intensives

Payment Plans

  • We offer payment plans through our partner, Cherry. If you're interested, please apply HERE. Applying won’t harm your credit.

  • ​All financial arrangements are completed before training begins.

  • Enrollment is cohort-based — the founding cohort is in progress now, and Cohort 2 is targeted for January 2027.

The 12 Weeks: Five Phases

Questions, Answered

  • Will I actually get clients? Building your book is a third of the program — client cultivation, pricing architecture, and brand definition run from Week 1, and you graduate with a working business plan. What we never do is guarantee outcomes; we build builders.

  • How much time does it take? Live classes run twice weekly in the evening (7:00–8:30 PM). In-person components are concentrated in two - four scheduled studio intensives and three supervised live-client sessions — 225 clock hours across 12 weeks.

  • How does financing work? Tuition is $5,500 — one price. Cherry financing splits it into manageable payments

With over 30 years of experience in the barbering and beauty industry, Tim brings a wealth of knowledge that comes together to train you in scalp micropigmentation for long-term success. His approach provides a strong foundational understanding of both the practical application of SMP and the business principles needed to build a sustainable practice. Tim’s one-on-one training style is designed to cultivate not only technical skill, but also the discipline and confidence required for long-term professional growth.
